The hero number is total cost per canvas. It already includes every material choice you made. Secondary numbers simply split that total or scale it so you can plan purchases and pricing.
Very small supports (under 20 cm) with pre-owned bars and fabric can return totals under a few currency units. In that range the calculator is still accurate, yet practical advice shifts to “use scraps”. Very large or deep gallery wraps with linen and three gesso coats can exceed the price of a ready-made canvas of the same size; the tool shows the difference clearly so you can decide whether building is still worthwhile.

When the “already owned” options are selected the corresponding component cost is set to zero. Quantity greater than 1 simply multiplies the per-canvas total; some implementations apply a small percentage reduction for quantities above a threshold to reflect bulk buying.
